Luca Catalano Gonzaga was born in Rome and went on to get a degree in Economics and Commerce.
From 1990 to 2007, he worked in advertising and marketing for various companies including: Mondadori, Stream, Mediaset and Nbc Universal.

In 2008 he became a full-time professional photographer, focusing mainly on social themes, portraitts and ad hoc projects relating to the worlds of industry and business.
In 2009, he was awarded the “ Grand Prix Care du Reportage Humanitarie 2009” for a feature he did on child labour in Nepal, which he exhibited at The International Festival of Photojournalism: “Visa Puor l’Image” at Perpignan.

In 2010, he set up a non profit group called “Witness Image” http://www.witnessimage.com/, whose objective is to develop photographic projects connected to the theme of human rights.
In 2011 he received long-term funding from the Nando Peretti Foundation, to carry out the project “ Child Survival in a Changing Climate”, on the impact of climate change on children in developing countries.

In September/October 2012, he held a photographic exhibition of the project, “Child Survival in a Changing Climate” at the Fondazione Forma, Milan and at Palazzo Valentini in Rome.

This project was awarded:

- Runner-up, Luis Valtuen˃a 15th International Humanitarian Photography Award, Spain

- Gold winner of the Nature and Environment category,The 3rd Asia Press Photo contest, China.

- 2nd Place Environment Picture Story,The Best of Journalism 2012, USA.

- The Asia winner of the Global Wind Day photo competition, Belgium.

Luca Catalano Gonzaga nasce a Roma, segue gli studi classici e si laurea in Economia e Commercio.

Tra il 1990 ed il 2007 sviluppa la sua carriera professionale nel settore pubblicitario e della comunicazione lavorando presso diverse Aziende quali: Mondadori, Stream, Mediaset e Nbc Universal.

Dal 2008 diventa fotografo professionista a tempo pieno, concentrandosi in particolare su tematiche sociali, ritratti e progetti ad hoc legati al mondo industriale/aziendale.
Nel 2009 riceve il riconoscimento “ Grand Prix Care du Reportage Humanitarie 2009”, con un reportage sul lavoro minorile in Nepal, premiato e presentato al Festival Internazionale del Fotogiornalismo “Visa Puor l’Image” a Perpignan.

Nel 2010 costituisce un’associazione no profit denominata “Witness Image” http://www.witnessimage.com/ che ha come obiettivo quello di sviluppare progetti fotografici legati alla tutela dei diritti umani nel mondo.

Nel 2011 riceve un finanziamento pluriennale dalla Nando Peretti Foundation, per realizzare, il progetto fotografico “ Child Survival in a Changing Climate”, sull’impatto dei cambiamenti climatici nei confronti dei minori nei paesi in via di sviluppo.

Nel mesi di Settembre/Ottobre 2012 realizza una mostra personale del progetto fotografico “Child Survival in a Changing Climate” presso la Fondazione Forma di Milano e Palazzo Valentini a Roma.

Con lo stesso partecipa e riceve:

- Runner up Luis Valtueña 15th International Humanitarian Photography Award, Spain
- Gold winner of the Nature and Environment category, The 3rd Asia Press Photo contest, China.

- 2nd Place Environment Picture Story, The Best of Journalism 2012, USA.
